Opportunity is everywhere and can be found in everything whether for your own personal growth, career, family or for your business. You just never know who you are going to meet or what you will experience that will change your LIFE! There is opportunity found in the line up at the grocery store, travelling on airplanes and even in your experience through loss or pain. Our job is to be open enough to see the opportunity and determine whether this opportunity is right for us. After all not ALL opportunities are right for us to pursue! Be mindful not to chasing down too many rabbit holes.
Some opportunities are immediate and others are not! Sometimes we see the immediate reward in a connection made and other times it takes weeks, months or even years to nourish. As long as you are paying attention, you will be able to figure out which opportunities are for right now and which ones are for down the road and which not at all.
See the Opportunity
You must be able to look at all connection and experiences as opportunity. Not necessarily from a “how can this serve me?” standpoint but from a “how can I serve them?” Recently, I met someone who was not really a target client but he owned a business and was on a committee to do a Leadercast event Check it out! I thought at least perhaps I could throw him some referrals or support the Leadercast event by sharing on social media. I said I would follow-up to have a chat. the following week, I had a REALLY full schedule but he was available and willing to have a phone call so I squeezed him in. I am so grateful I did because I had expressed my desire to do more in the speakers circuit and when a spot came up to speak at the Leadercast guess who got called?!! Now I get to speak at a Leadercast event with hundreds of women! BE OPEN!
Create the Opportunity
You can create opportunity by seeing a bigger picture. Sometimes part of the opportunity is there but we need to come in and put the puzzle pieces together or solve a problem. Often solutions are the opportunity. This is where collaboration and joint ventures really come into play! Working with others has been incredible. One example was when I got a speaking opportunity at a specials needs school in Edmonton, After talking to the principal about what her needs were for speakers and workshops we realized that I could help fill most of her spots with my clients. A huge win win. Less pressure for her to find qualified speakers and I get to add value for my clients be getting them paid speaking spots! Incredible. TRY TO FIND A WIN WIN!
Action the Opportunity
If I hadn’t acted on any of the above, I wouldn’t be speaking next week and I wouldn’t be working with the special needs school. I made it happen! All of us CAN make it happen and once we allow that opportunity to come full circle it often leads to another opportunity and another and you become abundant in the things YOU want to manifest for yourself! TAKE ACTION!
