Commitment, Consistency and Summertime
Summertime and intention settings go hand-in-hand. We all set the intention to do things during the summer between picnics, road trips and weekends away with family and friends. Quite often those projects you decided to tackle earlier in the year, the new years resolutions you made, are set aside while we enjoy the summertime. Our commitment begins to wane and our schedules no longer have consistency.
With summer also comes the mindset of procrastination. Summer provide so many ways that we can really slip into the mindset of procrastination. The #1 way to shift that mindset is the to take action. Taking action is the most important thing to avoid procrastination. You want to work toward a big goal which is your dream.
This is why Intention setting is important for many reasons. When you set intentions, you can then define small acts of courage, doable action steps, so you can see forward progress, you have something to look forward to, and they help create ambition. Many people believe that intentions support goals; but to reframe your reality, your goals are set to support your intention. You are setting yourself up for success.
You can measure success any way that you want to. Success is not measured by money because anyone can make a lot of money. The goal is to make a lot of money by living out your passion. When you are working toward something you are extremely passionate about you will usually be fortunate enough to make some money. The important thing is that you can look back on your life and know you did everything you wanted to do and you have no regrets.
Any project you decide to tackle or endeavor you want to achieve you need to design it as a goal with a breakdown of the steps to get to the goal. This will make the goal look so much easier to get to and you will work harder to achieve it. In addition, you have a way to measure just how close you are to actually making it happen in your life what you have always dreamed of.
Now having said that!!! SUMMER IS HERE AND YOU PROBABLY DON’T WANT SOME BIG PROGRAM OR LOTS OF COMMITMENT DURING THE SUMMER. But there are things you need to do to stay on track in your life (and business) … so that you can be where you want to be in the fall feeling refreshed, focused & motivated!!!
Action needs to be all around you when you are living your passion and pursuing your dreams. Because it has been so easy to procrastinate to work toward your passion you do not want to fall into the same problem as before. It is important to take action with yourself, people you include to help you and more.

How do you do this?
1. Commit To Making A Change.
Change can be scary and it can be difficult. You likely have habits and routines that are keeping you unhappy. Otherwise it’s very unlikely you would be reading this article.
Commit to doing whatever is necessary to achieve happiness. Write this commitment down and tape it to your bedroom mirror, to your refrigerator, in your bathroom, in your car and wherever else you will see it often. 85% of people who read a self-help book never lift a finger to change. Don’t be one of these people. Choose to be happy and fulfilled instead. Later, you will thank yourself for breaking these self defeating patterns.
2. Bring an Accountability Mentor On Board.
Knowing someone is cheering you on and holding you accountable for better or worse can make all the difference in the world. This is why those who hire success coaches and accountability partners so quick to succeed. You need someone to support you, to cheer you one, to be there when you need to vent your frustration. As I mentioned before, I know this sounds like a lot of work, and you probably don’t want some big program or lots of commitment during the summer. But there are things you need to do to stay on track … so that you can be where you want to be in the fall.
3. Tomorrow May Be Too Late – Start Today
Don’t fall into the trap of thinking tomorrow or next week or next month is the best time to start working towards achieving happiness. There’s zero excuse NOT to start today. This type of heroic action is where real change comes from. It sets the stage for your conscious and subconscious minds to come on board and help you be happy. This may be the most important advice you ever receive! Don’t ignore it.
